Munnar, the picturesque hill station nestled in the Western Ghats, is an ideal destination for those seeking peace and tranquility. Also known as the ‘Ooty of Kerala’, Munnar is located in the Idukki district, standing at an altitude of 5,200 ft above sea level. Once the summer retreat of the British, Munnar is blessed with rolling tea plantations, misty valleys, and breathtaking viewpoints. The name Munnar originates from the confluence of three streams—Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala—which add to the scenic charm of this nature lover’s paradise.

Thekkady, home to the famous Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, is a nature retreat with lush greenery and picturesque mountain views. Declared a Tiger Reserve in 1988, this sanctuary offers a chance to spot majestic tigers, elephants, bison, Nilgiri Tahr, and exotic bird species in their natural habitat. A boat cruise on Periyar Lake is the perfect way to witness these wild creatures up close while enjoying the serene surroundings. Thekkady is not just a wildlife haven but also an ideal honeymoon getaway, offering adventure, relaxation, and unspoiled beauty.

Known as the ‘Venice of the East’, Alappuzha (Alleppey) is famous for its stunning backwaters and intricate canals. Nestled between the Vembanad Lake and the Arabian Sea, this beautiful town is home to Kuttanad, the rice bowl of Kerala, with its endless paddy fields, meandering streams, and lush coconut groves. With a history dating back to the Sangam Age, Alappuzha was once a thriving trade hub with Greece and Rome. Today, it is best known for its houseboat cruises and tranquil backwater experiences, making it a must-visit destination.

Kochi, Kerala’s most vibrant metropolitan city, blends historic charm with modern elegance. Welcoming visitors with breathtaking backwaters, Kochi is an eclectic mix of cultures, influenced by the Arabs, British, Chinese, and Portuguese. From European-built churches and historic forts to privately-owned museums and traditional dance performances, Kochi offers an immersive cultural experience.
