Day 2: Beijing (Breakfast/Dinner)
Start your day with a visit to Tian’anmen Square, the largest public square in the world, where you’ll be struck by its vastness. Next, explore the Forbidden City, the imperial palace that housed 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. As the world’s largest ancient architectural complex, it offers a fascinating glimpse into China’s imperial history. Afterward, visit a pearl factory before continuing to the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon. This architectural masterpiece symbolizes the connection between heaven and earth and reflects the harmonious spirit of the Chinese people. Your guide will help you imagine the ancient sacrificial ceremonies held here for good harvests.
Day 3: Beijing (Breakfast/Dinner)
In the morning, travel 75 kilometers to visit a jade factory and the iconic Great Wall at Juyong Pass, a symbol of China’s historical ingenuity. It’s astonishing to think that such an impressive structure was built with simple tools centuries ago. Afterward, stop at Beijing Olympic Park for photos of the National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) and National Aquatics Center (Water Cube). Go back to your hotel to rest for the night.
Day 4: Beijing to Xi’an (Breakfast/Dinner)
Today, you’ll be transferred to the train station for your journey to Xi’an. After you arrive, settle into your hotel and unwind for the evening.
Day 5: Xi’an (Breakfast/Dinner)
After breakfast, embark on a full-day tour, starting with the world-renowned Museum of the Terra Cotta Warriors. This underground army, created over 2,200 years ago to guard the tomb of the First Emperor of China, was only discovered in 1974 and is considered one of the most important archaeological finds of the 20th century. You’ll also visit a special lacquer art workshop, followed by free time to shop at the Ancient Style Street. Have a delightful overnight experience at the hotel.
Day 6: Xi’an to Shanghai (Breakfast/Dinner)
In the morning, visit the Ancient City Walls of Xi’an, which are the most complete city walls still standing in China and one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Next, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, an important historical structure and Buddhist site. In the afternoon, you’ll take a flight or bullet train to Shanghai.
Day 7: Shanghai (Breakfast/Dinner)
Begin your day with a visit to the Jade Buddha Temple, a Buddhist shrine known for its two stunning white jade Buddha statues. The intricate craftsmanship of these sculptures is truly remarkable. Next, explore the beautiful Yuyuan Garden, featuring interconnected courtyards, rockeries, pools, and lush plants. Afterward, stop by a silk factory before heading to Nanjing Road, one of China’s premier shopping destinations, known for its bustling atmosphere and modernization. This street is often compared to Fifth Avenue in New York and the Champs-Elysées in Paris. Continue your tour with a visit to the Bund, Shanghai’s iconic waterfront district, where you can enjoy stunning views of the city’s skyline. The tour concludes with a visit to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower (outside view), one of Shanghai’s most recognizable landmarks.
Day 8: Departure from Shanghai (Breakfast)
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure, marking the end of your journey.
